Pujols & Pedroia
The most valuable players in the National and American Leagues, respectively, are Albert Pujols and Dustin Pedroia. They are not similar in stature, Pujols is big and powerful, Pedroia is diminutive--physically! But both are intense competitors and the heartbeat of their teams. I think the voters got it right this time.
