Savings Accounts

I have been a member of my local credit union for nearly five decades. My dad started savings accounts for me and my siblings. We were expected to save half of our paychecks while we were still at home. He wanted to teach us the value of saving. When my girls were born, I opened a savings account for each of them and instituted the same rule for my girls. It is a good idea to train youngsters that instant gratification is not what makes the world go round!
