Saving a Few Bucks!

The economy could hardly have picked a worse time to take a dive, at least for my wife and myself. My wife is intending to retire at the end of the year. She has been providing our family health insurance. We are raising two grandsons, so we are going to have to find a policy to cover us, which will be a significant hit on the budget. Especially if we find an policy that will provide coverage for dental and eyeglasses, as we now have.

But we probably will not seek that kind of coverage because we have discovered Zenni Optical! Zenni provides eyeglasses for as little as $8. They are able to do that because they manufacture the glasses and sell them directly to customers, cutting out the costs of middle men.

And these are not inferior quality products, even their $8 glasses have such features as anti-scratch coating, full UV protection and a full guarantee. My wife and I both wear bifocals, and I prefer the progressive lenses. At Zenni bifocals start at $25 and progressives at $37. At those prices I see not reason to include coverage for eyeglasses in my new insurance. That should help lower the premiums a little bit, and every little bit counts for us now!
