Some of my favorite novels are written by Louis L'Amour and they describe the arrival of early settlers in to the American frontier. There are descriptions of the wild and captivating beauty of the Outer Banks on the Carolina coast. Tell the stories are fiction, they describe the kind of people that settled in that area and became the cornerstone of the development that today sees the area as a highly developed attraction for vacationers and history buffs.
