Destination Weddings
Those who own and promote the resorts in exotic locations like the Riviera Maya in Mexico have really come up with a good idea in destination weddings. Couples that are looking for a romantic setting for their wedding would of course be interested. But on top of that, the wedding packages offer to take care of the details of the wedding that are done by the bride and her family in weddings in traditional settings, taking away all the stress in the preparation. And the cost is very comparable to the traditional settings. What is there not to like about that.

Beer Pong Tables
There are so many great ideas that I run across that make me wonder why I didn't think of that, because I could have made so much money or had so much fun. That is how I felt when I heard about beer pong tables. The creator of this game and these game tables probably laughs every time he goes to the bank.

22!
Well, well. I went out on a bit of a limb yesterday and predicted that the Houston Rockets would extend their current winning streak to 22 against the Los Angeles Lakers today. They did! By twelve points, with Rafer Alston scoring 31 points, for a career high. I do not know if Houston will carry it on against Boston on Tuesday, but I see no reason to pick against them!

Hurricane Aftermath
One of the long term impacts of Huricanes Rita and Katrina a couple of years ago is that some of the home insurance companies are no longer writing policies, or they have modified what they will cover. I recently received a notice that my insurer would not renew the wind storm portion of my home owners policy. I had to make a change in carriers after twenty years of doing business with my agent!

Free Flowing Emails!
I don't know why all of a sudden I have started getting emails promoting a colon cleanse. It could be that I have passed a certain birthday, number sixty is rapidly approaching. It could be that I have posted a blog entry for an advertiser whose website is about the subject. My blog has a link to the page. I wonder if that exercise is directly related to the constant flow of uninvited emails on matter.

Beds In Dominica
When we go to Dominica for a mission trip, our team rents an unfurnished house in the village in which we are working. We sleep on mattresses on the floor and take cold showers. We have in the past bought and stored mattresses, but the infestation of bedbugs makes us a bit more concerned about our bedding. We usually get new mattresses and give them to a needy family when we finish with them. That has worked out well for all concerned!

Roy O and the Rest
Roy Oswalt went two innings in his spring training debut, throwing 36 pitches. Most of his pitches yesterday were fastballs. He gave up a walk and a hit, but no runs. I have no doubt that he will be ready for opening day and his first start. It is the rest of the starting rotation that worries me.

HypedUpSports.com Offers a Great Opportunity!
As a boy in the middle 1950's I got see my first major league baseball game in Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia. The Phillies played the Brooklyn Dodgers. Clem Labine pitched for the Dodgers, against the great Robin Roberts. Roy Campenella Hit a homer onto the roof in center field, but the Phillies won the game. I still have the program from that game, it is the first of a personal treasure of sports collectibles.
I have been blessed to get some very special items autographed by some of the biggest stars of several generations. I have a program from the 1968 MLB ALl Star Game autographed by Willie Mays, who scored the only run of the game. I have basketballs autographed by Wilt Chamberlain and Hakeem Olajuwan. I have a program from Mickey Mantle's funeral, and a bat signed by over thirty Hall of Fame baseball players. Maybe my favorite is a first day cover that is signed by both Nolan Ryan and President George H. W. Bush.
Knowing how much I love my autographed sports collectibles makes me believe that the opportunity being presented by HypedUpSports.com is a super duper idea. They have made arrangements with some of the truly great athletes of today to sign autographs on memorabilia sent in by fans who want to transform their pieces into true treasures. How cool would it be to have a jersey signed by either Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James or Michael Jordan?
At HypedUpSports.com you can make arrangements with them to send in your item to be signed at scheduled exclusive sessions with all four of those Hoops hierarchy, or with perhaps the greatest athlete in the world today, Tiger Woods!
Go to the website to check out the schedules and to see the simplicity with which the process is going to be. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity!

Clemens to Jail?
It is hard to believe that Roger Clemens could go to jail. I have little doubt in my mind that he used the HGH, despite the fact that he has never tested positive for any illegal substance. But the testimony of Andy Pettitte and the idea that his wife took growth hormones without his knowledge makes it hard to believe Roger is innocent. But jail time?

Shopping Online
Ever since my mom used to drag me with her while she was shopping, I have never really been one to comparison shop. For most of my life I would walk in to a store and find what I wanted and make the purchase. But since I began browsing the internet, I have found that seeking the best buy is a lot of fun. I seldom go shopping at a store anymore and I have not been in a mall in more than a year!

Baseball In the Newspapers!
I was out of the country for a few days in the middle of this month. When I got home I realized one of the reasons I love late February so much. It is because baseball has started!
When I opened the newspaper this morning to the sports section, I found a whole page filled with stories about what's happening at the Astros' spring training camp. In the wintertime there are so many days without even a mention of baseball in the newspaper that it always gladdens my heart be able to open and read about the game and the players in the hopes for the season.

My Driver Arrives!
A few weeks ago I saw an offer to give selected entrants an opportunity to review the new Taylor Made Burner driver on behalf of The World of Golf. Those who registered were asked why they should be the one selected to make the review. I registered and submitted that to be completely accurate, the reviews needed to include a hacker like myself rather than a bunch of scratch golfers. To my shock, I was one of the ones chosen!
The World of Golf sent a new club, but when it arrived it had been broken in transit. I had to return it, and the process of getting another club took nearly two weeks. But it arrived yesterday, in one piece. I can hardly believe that I have been given a Taylor Made Burner driver to keep, simply for agreeing to review it and post the review on my blog!

A Review of My New Taylor Made Burner Driver
My Taylor Made Burner driver arrived yesterday afternoon. I would like to have waited to test it till the weather was a little nicer, not windy and drizzling rain. But the fact that I am leaving for a week's vacation tomorrow pressed me to get this review done for The World of Golf.
When we got tot the park where I most often hit a few golf balls, we went to the end that flares out into about a 350 yard empty plot. I took the head cover off my new Burner, and was still amazed at the size of the club's head, especially in light of the fact that it only weighs about fifty grams. The shaft is a flex model, something I have never used, my old driver is a stiff shaft. The loft on the club is 10.5, meaning that the trajectory of a well struck drive will be low and on a line.
When I began, I had trouble getting the feel of the club, I hit the first ball off the toe of the club, the second on the heel. Most of the swings I took were like my tendency, to top the ball, driving it into the ground. One swing I completely missed the ball! But that was not the fault of the club, it was my mechanics. My last swing was an easy stroke and the ball took off in a beautiful, straight flight, well over two hundred yards, easily further than I usually hit the ball. I am convinced that with my new Taylor Made Burner driver that I will be consistently hitting the ball much further into the woods than before!

Bathroom Remodeling
Our new bathroom remodeling is nearly complete. We have added new custom made cabinets, new wall covering, new sinks along with some classy new Price Pfister faucets on the sinks and the tub and shower. It is beginning to look nice. The last touch will be new ceramic tile floors, which are supposed to be installed next week!
